UK Student Visa Extension/Renewal Inquiry

Hi, I finished my masters in January 2024 (I am January intake student), and my student visa expires in early May 2024. I am have a PhD offer which typically starts in September 2024. I am concerned that I have to leave the UK between May and September 2024 as there is not point of applying for the graduate visa.

Any advice?

You have answered your own question. It is either take the graduate visa or leave and return. There is no magic solution.

It depends. Why do you want or need to be in the UK from January to September 2024?

I already have a part-time job and a place, and there is no need to provide a financial proof in the new visa application because it's been a year+.

Your only option is to switch to the Graduate visa to bridge the gap.

You would need to obtain a new Student visa before starting the PhD. Maybe you could defer the PhD for a year and make the most of the Graduate visa.

Otherwise you will need to leave the UK when your current Student visa expires, then apply for a new Student visa when the university issues the CAS.
