I will always prefer any other PEO than Croydon. I drove to Glasgow just to avoid new fee increase and believe it is worth it to go to Glasow. Very friendly staff.

PEO Experience Cardiff

Post by tinuct » Thu Mar 21, 2013 6:23 pm

Hi All,

Sorry for late reply..
Thanks all for help n reply n sharing their experiences..

My appointment was on 15/03/2013 at 1130 in Cardiff..
Reached there by 1045.
Had Security check n given a token.
waited 10-15 mins and an officer called me up for submitting papers. Was a nice guy..
Taken all paperwork n said they will take payment through the card details provided in application form not through chip n pin..
He asked me for employment letter..I was showing 2 jobs, i said i got only one letter, he said that is fine..he told me he may call or leave a message once it done..or come back by 4 pm..(So don't book any return ticket until unless by 6 pm)
After submitting that he told me to wait for bio-metric..waited nearly 1.5 hrs for bio metric to get done..i think there was short of staff..
After bio-metric ,the staff told me wait for call or message or come back by 4 pm..
I didn't get any call or message so i came back at 3 30 pm..I reported back to them that i didn't get any call..they told me to wait...
After 15-20 mins later, the guy took my paperwork called me and said..your application is approved :D ..due to the delay in bio-metric results they cant provide approval letter today..they gonna send by post..
I received the letter on Tuesday 19/03/2013 and
Got the BRP Card on Thursday 21/03/2013..
In my point Spending extra 300 on PEO is better than posting...

thnx all for the help regarding my appliction and bank statement queries..
For all who live in east ham or nearby. dont go to ur local branches for printing statements, they dont do (but luckily i got sealed n signed from nice guy in east ham branch) ..Go to central London branches, they will help you with all.

The PEO experience very pleasant. I was unsure until the last week if I wanted to apply by post or go for the same day service. My solicitor called me on Monday and said he got me a date for Thursday the 21st. I panicked a bit but because I was prepared it wasn't an issue. Appointment was at 09:20am. I arrived at 08:30, we went straight through, passed the security etc and made the payment. There was no queue or rush as it was one of the early appointments. After the bio-metrics we waited for our number and then waited and waited. At 12:10 we were called at the window, my agent went and my application was approved. No questions asked!! It was such a smooth journey. I really enjoyed it. I would like to thank all the members of this forum for their help and support.

All the best to the people who are going to apply in the near future and if you would like to ask anything please give me a shout.

Regards,
Nasir Iqbal

Tier 1 Extension at Sheffield PEO

6. Date of expiry of the new visa : Waiting for the card

9: Approval letter: Given on the same day (visa for 3 years)
10. BRP Received on: Received the Card in just 2 days (On 27-03-2013).
I had applied as self employed (Ltd Company Director). All the documents were perfectly fine, but the big blunder i did was I forgot to carry my wife's old BRP card. while submitting the documents, i realised this and told the lady at the counter about it. she was so understanding saying that it is too easy to misplace the BRP card. she just out a note on my file mentioning that my wife's existing BRP card is missing. I was just keeping my fingers crossed. after an hour case worker called me and said that he is looking into the file and will take approx 1 hr, so if i want i can go out and come. But i decided to stay there thinking that he might call me again for anything else. after 45 mins, he called me again and to my sweet surprise he gave me the good news that he has approved the all the applications and everything is fine. I would highly recommend Sheffield (without any doubt). I agree that no peo can be rated as best or worst if all the docs are in order, but the level of understanding of the staff is exemplary at Sheffield.

Thanks for all the help and advice. This forum is really the best for immigration advice. Alll the best for everyone who are going to apply for their visas soon. Good Luck

First of all thanks to all the moderators, senior members of this forum to help me in getting my visa. I had a good experience in Croydon PEO. My appointment was at 8:45am and I enter PEO around 8:15am. After usual checking, I went straight to deposit my fee, as amount was high £2700 so they call my bank for security clearance. After that went to first floor, case worker checked my form and gave my bio metrics. Then went to second floor to handover my documents. Within 3 hour I got my approval letter. I only submitted my and my wife passport, bank statements, salary slips and letter of employment.

Thanks again for your help guys.

Tier 1 General -Extension Exp in sheffield

Post by koolyaar » Thu Mar 28, 2013 11:25 pm

1. Current Tier 1 : Tier 1 (G)
2, 2nd extension for another 2 years
3. Date of PEO Appointment : 28-Mar-2013
4. Number of dependants: 2
5. Employment: Employed two different jobs
6. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) : 23-Apr-2013
7. Date of expiry of the new visa : 28-Mar-2015 (I asked case wroker)
8. Payment mode : HSBC Debit Card (Three transactions £1800+£900+£900)
9. Name of PEO Applied : Sheffield
10: Approval letter: given on same day
11. BRP Received on: waiting -- Received on 4th April 2013

Appointment was at 10am and got there by 9.00 am.
Completed usual check-in in 3 minutes,
Then went to Reception at 9:05 am and she checked my appointment letter and gave me token
case worker called me at 9:15 AM and asked following questions:
1.What visa you are applying?
2.Are you applying alone or with dependents?
3.Then i have your filled forms?
4.Can i have all your passports including previous?
5.Can i have all your supporting documents?
6.Can i also have photo copy of all documents? (I got all copies in case)

He sealed all my documents in a file and take payment pages and then send me straight to payment window.

made payment straight as there was no queue at 9:25 AM and she asked Do you want to pay with single transaction of £3600 or separate transactions (£1800 + £900+ £900) and i paid separately By HSBC Debit visa card. (Payment successfully gone throught)
Note: There was Note displayed on window That if any one paying by Natwest Debit or credit card more than £1000 then he/she neeeds to contact to Natwest Help line.

and next waiting for Biometrics and called my token at around 10.15 AM.

lady asked two questions:

1.what is you name and date of birth?
2.Are you know by any other name ?
and she gave me paper to sign.

finished biometric in 10 minutes.

Another case worker called me at 11:10 AM whose was dealing my case , she introduce herself first and said i am happy with all your documents and very impressed by your well organised file which saved my lots of time and just waiting for Biometric results which will take another 30 to 40 minutes.

Finally she called me at 12:00 and gave me good news But here is the problem comes when i asked when will my new visa expired she said will be valid till 28-Mar-2015 which is two years start from today and i said look it should be 23-Apr-2015 so i can complete my 5 years to qualify for ILR then she said no rule has been changed from dec-2012 and she did not show me any prove and looks like i have shortage of 26 days even i said i applied with 28 days period but she said this is my final decision and she mentioned you will be ok as you can apply ILR before 28 days of qualifying 5 years means i wwill be eligible to apply on 27th March 2015 by post but still i said its kind of risk as according to my passport my 5 years period is not complete till 28th March and the discussion took around 10 mints and i mentioned that few of my friends even renew their visas on feb 2013 from croydon even before expiry of 2 months and their visa and their visa were stamped from the date of expiry of previous visas.

But she said i can not change my decision and it's final
Then she said thanks and good bye and i came out at 12:00 PM (9:00 to 12:00)

so now i am bit worried and need some advise from seniors or also i need to contact to solicitor to ask but still waiting for my biometric card.

Not Recommend: over all experience is good but I don't recommend any one to go to sheffield due to this visa expiry issue it looks like that case worker doing this as i have seen lots of people had good experience.
I dont want to mention her name but she is english around age 35 years old , short dark brown hair.

Note: These issues i have noticed only in sheffield, Glasgow and belfast.

Liverpool/ croydon/ birmingham and cardiff looks ok

All PEO's are now granting Tier 1 extensions from date of decision. The UKBA are instructing caseworkers to grant from date of decision on the basis that nowhere in the Immigration Rules does it state that they will grant 2 or 3 years from date of expiry.

Where is the rule where uk ba has instructed case worker ?
And look at the above experiences ? Why only few case worker and at few Peo they are stamping visa from the date of appt?
Its totaly unfare.

The following is the statement from Uk ba web site in the section of Tier 1 General , when to apply :

We encourage you to make your application at least 1 month before your current permission to stay expires.

Please i need some guideline from some senior members?

My Case: Self-employed only ( sole trader)

No of Applicants: 2 (Main + 1 dependent-wife)
Current vignette: Tier 1 General (3+2)
Date of PEO Appointment: 01 August 2012
Appointment was at 9 am
Date of expiry of current leave (visa): 23 Sep 2012
Date of expiry of the new visa: Not known yet (but I have requested from 24 Sep 2012 & case worker was also agreed)
Payment mode: Debit Card (1800+900)

Approval letter given on same day: No
further enquiries letter handed over: 11.50
Approval letter received on : 02 August 2012
BRP received: Not yet

Reached PEO: 8.30 & token given from reception
9.10 Called by admin staff to check application forms( she has taken 2 application forms & Passport only) & ask me to make payment)

Finished Biometrics: 10.15

Called by Case worker: 11.00
He just ask me to give all supporting documents what I have for income proof only, I was surprised he didn't ask any single document for dependent (neither marriage certificate nor address proof, may be becoz we have married in UK & my wife has her 3rd extension with me as a dependent)
anyways my case worker clearly told me that such type of application i.e.(self employed) will take good few hours to decided however in an hour time will give you 90% overview what decision would likely to be... (sounds like I wouldn't get my decision on same day)

11.50 Case worker called me again and told me that 90% he is happy to grant all the points what I have claimed and returned all the originals and kept the passports with him for further enquiries need to be made therefore application has been passed to a team where these enquiries can be made ( as I was lucky that this team is based at Sheffield) therefore he assured me that he would have this report next day from enquiry team

03 August 2012 : I have received our passport back with approval letter dated 02august 2012 via royal mail next day special delivery

Wishing everyone all the best !!

Please note every experience is different & what is requested by the case worker completely depends on individual.

Many thanks for this forum & everyone's help
Hi,

Just want to know, did they mentioned anything about what kind of verification's? actually i've faced the same situation in belfast, they've returned all documents but they stated that need to do further verification's to make the decision, it was already 1 week completed of the PEO date, very tensed, could you please advise me ?

Presumably the rule is internal guidance that has been issued to staff only. So will not be made public.

Bearing in mind, the above experiences span across various dates and this ruling has not been in force for long. As far as I'm aware every PEO is following the rule granting from date of decision.

The statement from UKBA will encourage applicant's to apply within a month so that they don't risk submitting an out of time application and possible refusal.

As stated, nowhere in the Immigration Rules does it state that the UKBA will grant from date of expiry. UKBA are only obligated to grant 2 or 3 years, no more or no less.

You can always apply for ILR within 28 days as explained by your caseworker. This should not affect your 5 years.

1. Current BRP: Tier 1 General Ext
2. Date of PEO Appointment: 26-Mar-2013
3. Number of dependants: 1
4. Employment: Salaried
5. Date of expiry of current leave (visa): 19-Aug-2013
6. Date of expiry of the new visa: 26-Mar-2016
7. Payment mode: Debit card
8. Name of PEO Applied: Croydon
9: Approval letter: Given on the same day
10. BRP Received on: Received on 28th March

Overall, it was a very smooth experience. I submitted the following documents for myself:

a) 12 month salary slips
b) Corresponding bank statements
c) Letter from employer

For my wife:

a) Marriage certificate
b) My bank statements (same as ones submitted as part of my application)

That's it. I didn't want to make it complicated. My appointment was at 10:05 and we were out of the building with the approval letter by 12:30. I was surprised that we were given an extension for 3 years. My original visa was for 3 years, then I got a 2 year extension and this time I was expecting a 2 year extension but got 3. Good for us ! :)

Let me know if you have any specific questions - will be happy to help.

4. Number of dependants: 1

I thought to share my experience and hope would be a learning for others. I had an appointment in Liverpool at 11 am. Evrything went very smoothly. Finally, given my application to the case worker at 11:30 am.
At 12:45 pm case worker has given a letter with 10 bullet points (required evidences) and aksed me to respond within 10 days to Croydon office (as he mentioned that they do have limited resources to verify for self-employment source. He did not ask me anything. However, i tried to go through each points mentioned in the letter in front of him but he said that take it with you and you will have reply this in writing within 10 days (not working days).
Documents Provided at the time application:
Employment:
- 12 Months Payslip
- Employer's Reference Letter
- Personal Bank Statement (12 month)

Self-Employment:
- Management Report (P&L AND B/S) prepared by accountant
- Accountant Letter
- Invoice Summary
- HMRC letter for NI and UTR
- Invoices
- Business Bank Statement

It seems that case worker was fine with the employment income as a source but confused with the self-employment side. He aksed me to send:

1. Contract/Agreement with the clients
2. Letter from the clients confirming nature of work and payment details
3. Evidence of services provided such as reports and exchange of contracts
4. Advice on my hourly consultancy rate (however it was mentioned in the provided invoices along with the application)
5. All the expense invoices which have been mentioned in the management a/c prepared by accountant
6. Evidence: How do i advertise my business?
7. 2010-11 tax return (As i have shown employment+self-employment in my first application).

However, i have sent all the required documents to them within 10 days(not working days).
Does anyone experienced such kind of issues???
Note: Do not go to Liverpool if you have more than 1 source of income.

Thx,
Koolyaar

Hello guys ,

Just to let you know that i have discussed my case with three different solicitors and they all said same thing that i will be eligible for ILR within 28 days period which means i will have only two days (26th Mar 2015 and 27th Mar 2015) windows to apply ILR.

Thanks At least i can qualify for ILR and i don't need to go for another extension.

Thx,
koolyaar

PEO Sheffield
Helpful staff. Smooth process overall.

Take photocopies of all your supporting docs. Also for first and last page of your passport. Arrange your documents neatly and label them with post it notes. Highlight salary transactions in the bank statements....all this will help the caseworker cut down your waiting time!
My caseworker didn't even touch the photocopier....my case was done in 30 mins flat.

PEO Experience - Glasgow

Post by nandsenthil » Fri Apr 12, 2013 10:26 am

1. Current vignette HSMP / Tier 1 : Tier 1 Extension
2. Date of PEO Appointment : 11/04/2013
3. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) : 06/05/2013
4. Date of expiry of the new visa : 11/04/2015
5. Payment mode : Debit card
6. Name of PEO Applied : Glasgow

Thought i would get my visa from the day it expires(6th May) until 2 years. But the Case worker explained me that it was inconsistent everywhere and from 6th April 2013 onwards they will issue visa only from the day applied/approved.
Also he explained clearly for ILR, in my case i would be eligible on 6th May 2015 and i can apply 28 days before that.

So whoever is applying for extensions please be aware of this and donot book your appointments very early.

I got to the home office at 9:30am, Checked in at 10am, biometric around 10:45am...called to the counter at 11:50am by a lady who introduced herself to me as my caseworker, 'told me my biometric and application is fine and she would check my self employment earnings and make a decision within 30min.

There came the longest 30mins of my life. Having a self-employment earning is complicated enough for caseworkers talk less of a foreign self-employment where the money was paid to my foreign account. (So I kept praying that God should take control)

I couldn't help myself but kept looking at what she was doing at the back (I could see her through the glass window) there was a time I think she was confused and she called a colleague to her desk to have a look, they chatted for like 10mins and the colleague left afterwards.

At exactly 12:32pm she called me to a counter and informed me my application has been successful and should receive my BRP soon……I was so excited.
