Tier 4 visa application with criminal record

Hi,
I'm from Canada and am 24 years old. I was accepted by a University in the UK and was hoping to acquire a tier 4 visa. The problem is I do have a criminal record. Four years ago in 2011 I participated in the Vancouver Stanley Cup Riot. It is my only offence juvenile or adult and I was certainly a one off mistake. On May 5th 2014 I was sentenced to 4 months in prison. I got out at 2 months and 20 days for good behavior. It is my only offence and I am certainly not likely to reoffend in my own country, let alone another country, but will I get rejected? My main fear is that because of the riots England had that I will get rejected.
