Applying for UK standard visitor visa on behalf of someone else

Post by Aaron_87 » Mon Dec 31, 2018 11:51 am

Hi,

I'm currently based in the UK but i want to apply for a standard visitor visa to the UK on behalf of my uncle who is based in India. Is this possible?

Also i've seen the application form online and it asks for monthly income and how much you'd be spending on the trip. If i was to sponsor the trip from the UK how would i need to fill the application form in?

Your uncle has to apply for the visitor visa, not you.

What evidence of financial self-sufficiency and strong ties to his home country is he able to submit. :?:

The ECO needs to be convinced that he has stronger reasons to return home than he has to remain in the UK.

Can't i apply as a sponsor? So i can show i'll be funding his trip here?

He is employed in India and has his family there so he's able to provide proof of that.

Hi Casa, slightly wrong on this one. You can create a visa application on behalf of someone (Those who do not have English as their first language/representative such as solicitor). I submitted a visit visa for my mother in law on her behalf with her co-oporation and documentation sent from her side. In fact the first checkbox is to state if someone else is filling out the form or the applicant themselves. The applicant signs to ensure that details are correct once submitted (done after PDF is generated/printed on their side, I had sent the hard copy)

The documentation and sponsorship can be from the person filling out the form on their behalf but of course, ALL applicant details need to be 100% correct

Put in his monthly income from his job, he will need to provide evidence such as wage slips or bank account deposits of this nature.

You can certainly sponsor the trip but any relevant information about his travel history, previous applications, his finances, what comes in and out, do fill it out on his behalf.

I had simply wrote x£ as the amount of money that will be spent on the trip which is funded by the sponsor named x. I hope that makes sense.

What is really important is to ensure there is social and economic ties to make sure your uncle WILL return to India after the trip. His home, land registry, work etc. all plays a part.

I don't see the option on the online application to fill on someone else's behalf. Also if i was to fill the application form on their behalf can i make the payment from the UK or does he have to do it from india?

Travelling date question - UK standard visitor visa

Post by Aaron_87 » Mon Dec 31, 2018 4:26 pm

Hi,

When filling in the UK standard visitor visa to the UK it asks what dates the individual will be travelling... Are the visa issued for a 6 month period or just the time you stated on the application.

For example if i filled the form in and put i want to travel to the UK from 1st April- 25th April then got the visa and decided i want to extend my stay from 1st April till 3rd May is this possible?

Thank you in advance

It's the very first page when you create a new application.. you can create multiple ones so take a look as a test.

Is this still the case in 2019? I honestly can't see this option. Have created two new forms to look for it.
