Change role within the same company

Post by leeloy88 » Fri Aug 15, 2014 8:29 pm

Hi experienced members and gurus!

I'm getting an internal job move in my company, so still the same bank but different divisions. How does this impact my tier 2 general (I have this since 2010), expiring 2016. Do I need to apply fora new tier 2?

Say if I have to apply for new tier 2 but choose not to do it, would it impact my ILR application?

Please help me with this, it's such a hassle and costly to apply for another tier2 esp I'm still with the same employer. I don't even know of the SOC codes are different for the old and new roles. I mean they're both financial professionals! How do I find out?

it is up to your sponsor to decide if your new role means a change of job SOC code. If it does they should issue a new CoS and you should make a change of employment application. If it doesn't no action is needed. Ask your sponsor for a printout of your present CoS, it shows the SOC code under "job type".

Ask your employer to confirm (HR and Immigration department) that your new role also falls under same SOC code.
This will avoid issues when they give you an ILR support letter.

If the SOC code changes it will be like making a new Tier 2 Visa application with an RLMT and SoC code issuance.
