How long to get results for CoS application?

Post by lugoo » Mon Jul 19, 2010 12:59 pm

Hi, I got a job offer recently and my future emploter agreed to help me with the help from the compay's solicitor to apply a Tier 2 Visa. In order to get a CoS, I sent all required docunments to the HR who then passed them to the solicitor last Friday. I am wondering if someone know how long the process will take to get the CoS? I am required to start work in the beginning of Oct and will have to apply Tier 2 out of country. Many thanks!!

My future employer has a PBS sponsor license and is graded as an A sponsor.

Certificate of Sponsorship is just a reference number which u put in ur Tier2 application form when u apply.
It is responsibility of ur employer (not anyone else has authority) to get Cos number using sponsorship management system, it is all online. if ur employer pays for Cos using credit card or debit card etc, it takes only 30 mins to get CoS. If they pay by cheque, it will may take 7 to 10 days.

Check ur Job title and salary in Code of practice and select appropriate code before u apply for CoS.

contrary to what mt_dilber says some solicitors CAN issue certificates for sponsors as long as they are set up as a Representative and a Level 1 or Levele 2 User on the Sponsor Management System.

Otherwise correct. Your sponsor may have to wait to meet the advertising criteria (giving enough time for applicants). If that has been fulfilled then usually a certificate can be issued within minutes, as long as they have at least 1 available certificate in their allocation.
