Medical exemption card for Tier 2 General visa holder

Post by Meghgum » Wed Jul 13, 2022 9:29 pm

Hi,

Hope you are doing well.

My husband is on Tier 2 General visa ( Skilled Worker visa) and I am his dependant. My husband has been diagnosed with diabetes and the GP suggested he can apply for the medical exemption card for the medicines. But since we are not eligible for public funds as per the visa, we are confused if we are eligible to utilize this card.

Could you please help us on this query.

Thanks in advance

Regards,
Meghana

There is no issue here, the medical exemption card which provides free medication for certain medical conditions is part of NHS services to which your husband is entitled, it is not a public fund.
