Passport validity for Tier2 General Dependent visa extension for 3 yrs

I have to apply for Tier 2 extension for my dependents for 2 years from Sep 2019 - Aug 2021. However, their passports are expiring in Jun 2021. Should the passport remain valid for the duration of the extension I am requesting? any clarification from home office? thanks

No they do not need to be valid for the duration of the visa. They must be valid at the time of application. You can renew passports later.

I am Tier 2 sponsored visa with same extensions date. My 3 years stay going to be completed by Aug 2019. I ve to either apply 2 years or 3 years extension. Is there any factor I should consider before decide right years of extension.

If I apply for 2 years would that be too close to apply for ILR and get BRP before ectension expire as my employer would need to see BRP. I plan to go with premium service that time.

How long you get for an extension depends on the length of CoS your employer assigns.

My employer can do both and asked me about plan. If all goes fine I would apply for ILR after 2 yrs. Any other factor should I consider for 3 yrs instea. thanks

No not really. It is your employer (and your) choice how long the CoS is for.

For ILR you simply need to meet all the requirements and have a valid visa at the time of applying.

My entry clearance date on Visa stamped on passport, entry UK date and 5th yr anniversary - all are same. My BRP issue date is 2 weeks earlier than this entry clrarance and Entry UK date.
