Post by CH » Thu Mar 08, 2007 7:15 am

Dear Frieds,
Please clear my confusion, do we need to get the letter Stamped if a signed letter is printed on company's letter head?
If Stamp is mandatory, It will take my 3-4 additional days:), Please suggest.
thanks,
Ch.

This is normal practice in the UK. Most letter in the UK even the very important documents are not stamped.

Look into your Employement Contract, other important letter of your comanny, it is highly unlikley that they have stamp on it.

Yes, but please do not take my word for granted.
Every caseworker could have different opinion

Dear all,

allow me to disagree with you! the HO / Caseworker are looking to see that your docs are all genuine. As far as headed papers go, any ficticious person, with a good printer and the right info can reproduce a good headed paper! As far as signitures go, it is just some sort of writing with a pen on a paper!

what really maters is the stamp... and caseworker will be looking to see that the same stamp or features of stamp logo - name is matched in your documents - I got all my papers which are on headed paper stamped by my employer and infact luckily they used stamp from same department (Human Resources)

That is my opinion and I might be wrong - no worries!

Take care.

I got approved without stamp on the letter. I think the norm is that if you are applying from UK you dont need as the contact details are enough to verify the document....but if you are applying outside UK, you may be required to have letter stamped...........I would suggest you that if you are applying ourside UK......GET THE LETTER STAMPED....DONT TAKE RISK

I agree with T_mahmood, in the UK, it is highly unlikely that they stamp the letter.

People who are on 1+3 (+1 if aproved) please come forward, explained it.

- Is your employment letter (or job contract at that time) at the time you got first aproval under old rule you submitted for extension is stamped.

- is your bank statement is stamped by your bank ?

This evedence couls verify the consufing of many people.

I also agree with you. If you could get it stamped it will be better. I think the general rule here, as mentioned by T_mahmood, if you apply within UK they do not really care about stamping letter, as it is a common practice here. But if your evidence is from outside UK it is probably better to get it stamped.

The main point here I believe, if you are appying within UK it is very easy to verify any document that you have submitted.

I disagree if you say that stamp is a proof of authencity. As majority of HSMP aplicants know (and the case worker, certainly) that in many developing countries you could get stamp from the street within one hour for less than GBP 5. Also, how could they know that the stamp in your letter is genuinely belongs toyour company or not ?. They have not seen any stamp from your company before, do not they ?

BACK_TO_GB could you please share the light, is it normal practice that your company to stamp the letter (I assume you are working in the UK) ?
