Resit in Dissertation

Hello there,

I have a question, my course finished mid September and my Visa expires on 7th January. Yesterday I got my results and found out that I have failed my dissertation but have passed other modules and I can get Post Grad Diploma but I have opted for resit and new deadline is 25th January. I have been informed by the university that I don't need to pay any fee or attend university.

my question is, will my visa expire straightaway i.e today or it's still 7th of January?

What are the working hours allowed during this time? 40 or 20 again?

It is still January. This doesn’t change. Your working hours remain the same as you are resitting

Thank you. Can I go back to work full time the moment I resubmit my thesis or I have to wait for the results?

If your visa expires on 7 January, and your new end date is 25 January, is your university sponsoring you for a visa extension? It seems likely that they would not, and would expect you to submit your dissertation from home.

The way you are asking the question, it appears you expect to still be in the UK when you get your results, but how is that possible if your visa expires on 7 January?

You need to wait for the results.

This has been extracted from a University website:

"An MSc student will be considered to have completed their studies when they have submitted
their dissertation. As this is the student’s final piece of work (and they are not allowed, or
asked to make any further amendments or corrections to their dissertation once it has been
submitted and marked) they are able to work full time on a temporary basis until their visa
expires."

How are you drawing that conclusion from the university guidance you have quoted? You need to read it again. It says your studies are complete, and you can work full-time, after you have handed in your dissertation.
