Hi all,
I had a resit for my dissertation module, and I am now waiting on my results to be released. The issue is, my student visa expires on January 18th, yet the exam board are meeting on January 17th to finalise marks. This means they may potentially release them officially on 18th, but it could even be later. It is very uncertain. I do know one thing for sure. I have passed the module and have my provisional grades, but these do not make me eligible for a graduate visa. It must be official results and the HO need to be notified by my University.
The immigration team at my university got back to me today and said they are unable to do anything to help with my situation. I was hoping they can help to request an early release of my marks. My student advisor was also unable to offer any advice.
I have decided I will apply for a graduate visa no matter the outcome. However, I read something posted by another person about what it says on the government website regarding the Graduate visa application process. It reads as follows:
"The Student Sponsor must have notified the Home Office, by the date of application, that the applicant has successfully completed the course of study. Sponsors will normally do this by way of bulk upload. If sponsors are unable to make the notification via bulk upload, they must use the agreed exceptions process.
If a notification has not been received from the Student Sponsor, but the CAS shows that the applicant had been studying a qualifying qualification, the caseworker must not refuse the application if it would otherwise be granted. Instead, the caseworker must contact the Sponsor asking for confirmation that the student has successfully completed the course of study."
Am I right in understanding that even if I submit my application without having the official release of my marks, the caseworker is not allowed to refuse the application and have to contact the University to confirm the completion of my course? I am very stressed right now and I am finding it difficult to process what I am reading.
If anybody has been in a similar situation, I would really appreciate any advice, and also if anybody could explain what the above paragraphs are saying, it would be of great help.
Thankyou
