Update your details on UKVISA site for a non eu family member

Hi all,
My parents are from india but got the pre settled status as a non eu family members. When i applied for eu settlement for them I created UKvisa account using their Indian passport because at that time they hadn't got any brc . They got their brc after the eu settlement's decision. After that I didn't link their accounts with brc and they got their passports renewed as well. Now i try to update their passports but its not going through. Should i link their accounts with their brcs? N what about the new passports? Do they need to be updated on the account even if i link the account with brcs? This is so confusing.. please help! Thanks!
