Most here know my long and winded story of my Pakistani husband trying to get a schengan visa under directive 2004/38/ec from the French Embassy in Pakistan. After much companing, stomping around, making loud noises and threatening to contact the British media, if visa is not issued, I finally got an email from the French embassy, requesting husband to come in, after over 2 months of holding his application AND passport hostage without word. Hubby went into today for a lengthy interview and in the end, he got his visa in hand!!
Just shows that persistence pays off!! And so does threats. I must say that the EU is the most corrupt organisation on the planet! Here we come, France!!! Finally after three years apart, since our marriage me and hubby can actually 'live'. Its like we've got our life back. Not tempted to leave the French off too lightly though. One thing that does worry me though, is that it starts 30th November and ends in February with only a 15 day visit period. I know that it doesnt matter and he can still use this visa to get a carte de sejour... What I am concerned about is the potential breauracracy in actually getting the carte de sejour for hubby!!!
