Canada wife of UK National - Visiting Spain

Canada wife of UK National - Visiting Spain

I am a Canadian wife of a UK National (my husband has dual UK/Canadian citizenship). We reside in Canada. We have a small house in Spain in which we would like to spend the Canadian winters (5-6 months every year). What do I need to do to be able to do this?

If your stay does not exceed three months at a time, then you don't need to do anything. Simply join your husband.

If your stay is more than three months, then you will be expected to apply for a residence card. This can obtained provided that your husband has sufficient resources to be self-sufficinet and has health insurance for himself and family (alternatively, he could work). Your husband would apply for a residence certificate.
