I work for a small business in the United States, and I am attempting to figure out what all I/my company needs to do in order to go do a one time job for four weeks in France. As I understand it, I do not need a work visa as long as I apply for a Temporary Work Permit from the DIRECCTE (Direction Régionale des Entreprises, de la Concurrence, de la Consommation, du Travail et de l’Emploi) formally known as DDTEFP (local division of the Labor Department in France). However I am having a lot of trouble attempting to find out the details of applying for said permit. Questions are...
1. Does anyone know exactly how I would go about the process of applying for one of these permits for myself and my crew-member?
2. I read that the obtaining of said permits are the responsibility of the client/sponsor in France, is that true?
3. What other requirements are there for my company to send an employee to France for a job. (ie; taxes, fees, permits...)
My company has never sent someone oversees, so this is all very new to us, and this great opportunity landed in our laps and we're trying to make it work. Any help or resources anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated, as this client is wanting us out there in just a couple of weeks from now.
