HSMP Extension: IELTS older than 2 years will be accepted

I thought this information will be useful for other people like me who are confused about how older IELTS test form can be accepted.

I had taken my IELTS on sep,2002 and got 6.5 IELTS band.

I called home office and intially they told me that you have to take another exam. When i started to argue with them they told me OK this can be accepted as rule doesn't specify how old can be accepted.

So for written proof i emailed the query and they replied by email that it should be accepted.

So friends no need to worry.

Anyway the logic is: they say that if you have done graduation in English mediam then you do not need to take IELTS exam but you know one may have done graduation before 4-5 years still that will be accepted so why there should be problem with 4-5 years older IELTS form.

The Rule says

Required Evidence
IELTS Band 6
9. To establish that you possess an IELTS qualification
at Band 6, you must provide the following:
• An original IELTS Report Form at Band 6.
10. Please note that, whilst for initial applications
submitted under HSMP, the IELTS Report Form
must be less than two years old at the time of
application, for those seeking to extend their existing
leave under HSMP, IELTS Report Forms which
were issued more than two years prior to the date of
the extension application, will be accepted.
