Main applicant apply through PEO and depandant Post? T1 extn

Post by shedy789 » Thu Jan 10, 2013 1:56 pm

Hi,

Can anyone suggest that if I can apply for Tier 1 extension through PEO and later send my dependants documents through POST? Would there be any issue?

Waiting for your help.

Regards,

Your dependents are in UK also with you I assume.

This was the same confusion I had yesterday and got a reply that its not a problem but still I am looking for some more confirmations for this.

yes it is possible and acceptable as long as your dependent leave is still valid.

i understand that you are trying to save some money. however, please aware that any changes to your leave should also be reflected in your spouse leave. that means for a brief time, your spouse is as good as not having a leave to remain and which is not right. i may be wrong. better confirm this.

Hi shedy789,

A very good concern, but lets think it this way:

1) Lets assume Both you & Your dependants have visa until 15-Jan-2013

2) You get your T1(G) extended via PEO say on 03-Jan-2013.

3) As per T1(G) guidance your new leave to remain should kick in at 16-Jan-2013 (unless the CW has messed it up )

4) This means your new visa is not valid until 16-Jan-2013 00:00

5) This also means your old visa is valid until 15-Jan-2013 25:59

6) Needless to say your dependent's visa is also valid until 15-Jan-2013 23:59

Seniors please suggest if I am missing something

You can,but sometimes it will take more time for visa processing. That's only the problem. Otherwise you can save money.Good luck.
