a few questions the guidelines didn't answer...

Hey guys,

I've recently begun considering an application through the HSMP, but I have a few questions to which I couldn't find clear answers in the guidance or on the forums, and the answers will probably determine whether I can apply succesfully.

First of all, note that I'm not planning to apply until a few years from now as I am currently doing a Law course at a British uni (2nd year), and then plan to do a Bar Vocational Course (BVC) for another year, followed by a 1-year pupillage and then finally proper work. So, I'm not going to apply until I graduate from my BVC. Now for my questions:

1. Will a BVC result in additional points (other than those I would have acquired through completing an LLB (bachelor's degree). If not, would my BVC count for more than my LLB if I was to use that instead.

2. I have been working for a think tank in my home country (Ukraine) by providing comparative legal advice, doing translation of reports into English etc. I earn about 4,000 pounds doing this a year, which gives me quite a few points since that country is within a low earning band. I work there in person about 4 months a year when I'm away on Uni holidays, but do the rest of the work through the phone and internet. Would this mean that my income would be evaluated according to the British band or the Ukrainian band (as within the British band I won't get any points). I don't know if that's relevant, but my income's paid into a Ukrainian bank account and I of course have tax slips etc.

Anyhow, sorry for the long-windedness but I'd rather know ahead of time whether this option is appropriate for me, or if I should look for another way of working here. Thanks in advance for the help.
