Applying for HSMP - CA

Post by ca_pradeep05 » Mon Feb 05, 2007 4:48 am

Hi All,

I would like to introduce myself to this excellent forum. The posts are very useful for a journey towards a successful immigration to UK.

I wanted to apply under the category "Highly Skilled Immigrant Program" considering my qualifications and the past earnings.

My profile in Short for deciding my case:

Professional Qualification: Chartered Accountant from ICAI, India.
Age: 28 years, 4 months
Past earnings: During last 12 months my past earnings in my Home country (India) is as follows:

- Last 4 months (since Sep 06): 7900 GBP approx
- Previously for 8 months (before Sep 06): 4600 GBP approx

* The earnings above I am mentioning above is the salary package (CTC) I am drawing (inclusive of bonus) as mentioned on my appointment letter given to me by my Companies. However, In my Bank Account, the salaries are credited post tax. I am not sure Home Office looks at the Total Cost to Company (CTC) or just whatever has been credited in Bank Accounts.

For the IELTS i still have to give the exam and I am confident enough to score a level of 6.

Please ADVICE in my case, considering my age, CA Qualification and the past earnings mentioned above, what are my chances for a successful application.

How much points will i be able to Score?

Regards,

Pradeep

Hi

I have just applied almost having the same situation but my salary is from the UK. They consider your gross income for the 12 months out of the last 15 months. You can check the points from the guidelines and if it works the first thing you need to do is to send the copies of your certificate to NARIC for its equivalence to UK qualifications. I am sure it will be equal to graduation.

Pradeep,

I am a qualified CWA and I guess when I applied I was more or less in the same situation. CA degree will not give you any additional points and you can claim point only for your Graduation and Post graduation. Don’t know what kind of experience you have but to tell you that Finance sector has tremendous opportunities. Although I am a qualified accountant but I have never worked in the conventional accounting area and rather have more experience with BPO’s and finance projects. You have a good chance of success with HSMP.
