Approval under old rules. Do I need new IELTS for EC now ??

Post by docitduo » Fri Feb 09, 2007 7:12 pm

Hi,

I received HSMP approval under the old rules, and I am now preparing to apply for EC.

Was wondering if I must submit the following for EC:-
IELTS report (less than 2 years old) or a letter from university certifying that my graduation was in English medium.

AS you are aware this was not a requirement under the old rules. I had included a four year old IELTS report in my HSMP application.

For the purpose of EC, will the 4 year old IELTS report do ?? or will I need to submit evidence of English proficiency as per new HSMP rules ???

Any fellow members who were approved under old rules but have applied for EC after the new rules came into force are requested to share their experiences. I will be applying for EC from India.

regards

It is not of any use including your proof of english requirement since you got your HSMP approval based on the old rules. You will definitely need it when processing your LTR in two years (that is if the rules don't change again).
All you need to do now is to prove to the EC officeer that you can sustain yourself in UK before getting a job without recourse to public fund. This is the basic requirement for the EC visa.
