8 months in India & 4 months in UK, help with earnings

Post by apply4hsmp » Sun Mar 04, 2007 12:26 am

I have 8 months earning in India and I have all evidence to get points for that but I have bank statements and salary slips(w/o attesting) for remaining 4 months. (1 month I did not work)

According to guidance notes I can ask HO to consider 8 months earnings and pro rata it. For 4 months I can't get attested salary slip copies.

1. Will submitting original bank statements and unattested salary slip copies for UK 4 months work ? for this duration I don't want HO to consider as earnings.

2. Will my 8 months India salary work instead of 12 months ?

It is the last 12 months earning that will be considered. This is not up to you to choose it what you prefer to submit.

So if by any mean they could know that you have been working in the UK (e.g from your passport/ WP visa) than you must submit your earning in the UK.

If you do not want your earning in the UK to be considered make sure that they do not knoe that you are working in the UK.

Thanks Pantaiema for your reply! I think you can submit the 12 months you want and you can decide which salary to count in case you have worked in 2 places in last 15 months.

HSMP Guidance Notes say
We will assess your gross earnings before tax over a total period of up to 12 months out of the 15 months immediately prior to your application. The earnings can be for any 12 month period out of the last 15 months.

And further it says...
If you have lived and worked in more than one country during the past 15 months we will normally assess your income over a 12-month period against the country where you have spent the longest period, on a pro-rata basis. For example we consider a period of up to 12 months in the last 15, so that if you have spent 8 of the months in the United Kingdom and 4 in Nigeria, we will take your earned income in the United Kingdom, divide it by eight and multiply it by 12 to give an annual income figure.

If you have been seconded overseas during the last 15 months and your salary continues to be paid in the normal manner overseas, the country where you have been seconded to and working would normally be considered. In order for us to establish which country code to consider your earnings against you will need to provide evidence of where you have been working and where your salary has been paid for the 12-month period you wish us to consider.
