Tier 1 General Visa and Change of Address

Tier 1 General Visa and Change of Address

My Tier 1 general visa was extended in April 2013 and I moved from Glasgow to London in June 2013. Now I contacted UKBA regarding one inquiry about old visa in 2008 and provided my new address in letter and UKBA advised me in their reply that because I moved address I need to notify UKBA about Change of Address and I need to submit online form.

I have nothing outstanding application with UKBA and I am living in UK since 2007 and never notified any change of address before.

Is this mandatory to notify UKBA change of address ?
