Switching from Tier 1 PSW to Tier 1 (G) Dependant In-Country

Hi,
I am on Tier 1 (G) Visa.
My wife's Tier 1(PSW) visa is about to expire.
Can she and my son(born here) apply as Tier 1(G) dependant in-country or does she need to go back and apply from her home country.
I read that the new ruling that dependent can apply in-country but not sure would it apply in my wife's situation.
