URGENT query EC - Is hostel booking ok?

I just booked 14 days 1bed in a 4bed dorm in a hostel. Is hostel booking accepeted a proper accomodation by visa officer? Any body on same boat earlier?

I don't think that would meet the accommodation test. But a search on this Board will show that booking an hotel room is OK. But I think a 4-bed dormitory might fail on the grounds of overcrowding, as defined.

For example, and other hotels are available, go to the Travelodge website and book a room .... at the full price! Not a Sale or Saver rate! In other words give yourself full flexibility to cancel if you feel the need.

Of course after the visa has been granted, totally up to you whether you maintain the booking, or change your mind!

That is good, and glad it worked for you, but I think that is an unnecessary risk. I continue to recommend that a hostel booking should be steered clear of when applying for EC.
