HSMP Previous Income --- Urgent help required

Post by amargaddam » Sun Feb 03, 2008 12:36 pm

Hello,

I am planning to apply for HSMP in next week. I am working in UK since August 2005 via Indian employer and was on Indian salary and allowance till July 2007. I have been transferred to UK salary in August 2007. I am planning to show my previous earning from Feb 2007 to Jan 2008. With Feb 2007 to July 2007 as Indian salary + allowance in GBP and August 2007 to Jan 2008 as UK salary. With this I am also claiming 5 points for UK experience... I have payslips for allowance paid over here.

Will that be allowed? Showing Indian salary + allowance for period Feb 2007 to July 2007 will work? I have p60 for year 2006-2007 as NIL return as I was getting allowance over here but I have P 16 from India.

Thanks for all your help!

Cheers,
Amar

It will work. Just need proper and complete evidences. Even a minor flaw may lead to a rejection

You have to show

Pay slips & Bankstatements for both your Indian Income & UK income over the claimed period wherever relevant

additionally, Whether it is covering your claiming period or not YOU MUST submit your both Indian & UK tax return even if it is showing nil. Then only you can claim exceptional consideration of considering only payslips & bank statements stating that Tax returns wont be relavant because of so & so reason (explain the reasons in covering letter)

In addition to all above, provide a letter from Employer stating your gross earnings in India and UK seperatly over the period for which you are claiming

Please note the amount & period mentioned in employer letter and the sum of the gross amount in payslips and its period must match

The above are enough

If you have earned atleast £16,000 (before tax) in UK as salary or allowance or both you can claim 5 points for UK experience (Indian salary wont be considered for this)
