English degree from Asia countries

Post by immigrationboards » Thu Mar 06, 2008 9:06 am

http://www.workpermit.com/news/2008-02- ... grants.htm

According to Work Permit:

Degrees taught in English

Applicants under Tier 1 for the GHSM and Entrepreneur sub-categories can also satisfy the English language requirement if they attained a degree that was taught in English from a list of countries below. This is verified by using National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC) data.

This list of countries includes:

Antigua and Barbuda
Australia
The Bahamas
Barbados
Belize
Dominica
Grenada
Guyana
Ireland
Jamaica
New Zealand
St Kitts and Nevis
St Lucia
St Vincent and The Grenadines
Trinidad and Tobago
the UK
the USA

If my degree taught in English but I'm not my these countries, do I need to attend IELTS? Thank you!

I'd also find out the official link:

http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/workin ... hlanguage/

It said:

have been taught in English to a standard comparable to that of level C1 on the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR).

If my degree from Hong Kong or India, does it been exempt IELTS?
Thank you!

WORKPERMIT.COM is CONFUSING !!!!

BIA LINK ALSO SAYS THAT BIA WILL CONFIRM WITH NARIC IF THE DEGREE IS FROM ANY OTHER COUNTRY ....SEE BELOW -

Where the degree was taken in another country we will confirm with United Kingdom NARIC that the degree was taught to a competent standard of English equivalent to level C1 on the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR).

DO WE HAVE WORKPERMIT.COM MODERATOR HERE ????? CAN YOU PLEASE CONFIRM ???
