Hello,
I am currently in ILR obtained via Tier 1 General 5 Year Route. My wife is currently on PBS dependent visa TIer 1 valid till the 19th March 2018. Her initial visa when we got married was granted on the 21st May 2013 which leaves her with 2 month short of 5 years to qualify for ILR. Not sure really what should I be doing when her visa runs out in March 2018.
1. Should I apply to extend her visa as PBS dependant again and get it extended for 2 months after which She can Apply for ILR as she would have completed 5 years?
2. Should I go ahead and apply for ILR directly even though she is only 2 months short? Possbily with a letter explaining the situation?
Any advise or suggestion would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Santhosh

It depends on how long they take to make the decision.
Safest may be be
Option 1?
If they are slow to make the decision, then
Option 2 is possible.
Extension is for
3 years.
Should get
KoLL before, while passport is available.

Thanks a lot for the quick response..
I was planning to attend Premium Service which I hope will be a same day processing.
But instead if I go for option 2 - should I perhaps do this via post instead of premium service?
i'm not sure what the options are once the application is posted?
Thanks again.

Could someone please help in my case. I would like to know if someone has already done this.
She has already completed 4 years 10 months. Her visa was issued on the 21st May 2013 and she travelled to UK on the 23rd June 2013 and had her visa Extended on 19th March 2015 for three years.
Her visa currently runs out on the 19th March 2018. I have already obtained ILR as of 19th MArch 2018..
Would my wife be eligible for another extension?
Any advise or help would be greatly appreciated.

But will she still get an extension for 3 years even though she has been in the UK already for 4 years and 10 months as T1 General Dependant. She already had an extension granted for 3 years back in March 2015.

Yes she will as that is what the immigration rules state she will get. You cannot choose a lesser visa duration.
