The first point says Is your partner accompanying you or joining you later? YES or NO

I want to apply SINGLY and my family will be joining me after 1 or 2 years. Should i write NO?

And if i write NO , should i fill details of spouse?...
Or Show as i am SINGLE...

Friends,
How can the answer for 1st Q be NO?

Your case is your dependents will join you in 1 or 2 years. That means they will join you later. Right?

"Is your partner accompanying you or joining you later?"

Your answer should be Yes since "joining you later" part is true. Going by the rule False OR True => True
Best regards,
Mani

This is a very dicey question. There are a few underlying reasons why main applicants hesitate to include spouse and children.

1) Risking both main applicants application fees along with dependent fees. People who want to avoid risk tend to apply first and then apply for dependents later.

Problem is can you explain this in the "" Addtl Info area""

2) When main applicant does not wish to liquidate most assets and maintain required funds for dependents who join him later.

( I face this situation as financial markets are in low and its not wise to sell mutual funds)

2) A most likely reason that you would like to settle down and then apply for the family.

Now looking at yr question and which i have also brought up earlier, Only earlier applicants can suggest and it is very unlikely we would get advice in short time. Keeping fingers crossed on this question as rule makers are different and Assesing officers can easily mis-judge one's intentions and result in refusal.

I am going to answer Yes to this question "Is your partner accompanying you or joining you later?" because they used OR. I will be mentioning in Section 7 (placeholder to provide any additional information) that they will join me in 1yr after I reach UK. And I will be showing maintenance only for me 2800 pounds.

Btw, if later I decide to bring my dependents earlier (say, in 6 months) will it be a problem? This is a nagging question now and I've not received any direct answer from anyone to this so far. any help appreciated

Here is one response from UKBA you may want to read thru. posted by Jedi001 in http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... 651#197651

If you are not coming with them but they are to join you in 5 months time their cost will apply now, for them to have their visas. If it is more than 6 months to 1yr then it is reasonable to process just yours for now.
