Switch to Dependent from Exempt VISA

Post by thikpal » Mon Aug 18, 2008 1:26 pm

Hi ALL,

I need some clarification regarding dependent VISA.

Me & my wife are currently living & working in UK.
I hold a HSMP VISA (got it stamped before 29th Feb 2008) and my wife holds International organisation employee exempt VISA (this is issued for people working in non-profit organization).

My wife wants to switch from this VISA to my dependent. Is it possible to switch from this exempt VISA to dependent in-country?

I would appreciate your help on this.

Dependent applications under HSMP have to be made from outside UK (entry clearance / leave to enter) and in-country switch is not permitted. Read para 194(vi) of the Immigration Rules
