Informing employer about HSMP Tier 1 Visa

Post by ashubhatt » Wed Feb 11, 2009 1:54 pm

Hi All,

Just wanted to know how many of you guys update/inform your employer about applying for HSMP visa?

About me, I have applied for HSMP tier 1 visa however didnt inform my employer. I know that HO can contact employer for various reasons.

Do you guys inform your employer??

My application is going to be considered soon so early response would be great.

Cheers

They will definately contact your HR to verify your salary slips and possibly details about the company. Now choice is yours! Not sure how you can get away without telling your employeer.

What should i say now

Post by ashubhatt » Wed Feb 11, 2009 4:41 pm

I have applied my application in January. What do you think I should say to my boss now. Should i just go and tell him the truth or something else. I know i know there is nothing to hide but still i am finding it hard to tell it. I don't know why? Weird!

Any ideas??

While applying for T1-G, there is a section in the application, where you need to provide the details of your employer to contact in case of any queries regarding ur salary or company where u r working or HR details etc..

Remember whose name, phone no and email id you have provided in the application and if it of HR or Accounts or your manager.. You need to take him/her into confidence and explain your situation and tell him/her that they will receive a call from HO and ask them to do the needful..

that is the best way..

Good luck

I think that honesty is the best policy in this situation. I would tell my employer that I am planning to apply for a Tier 1 visa but let him/her know that it does not mean that you are planning to leave. The employer can still keep you employed on a Tier 1 visa, and will not have to go through any future hassle of trying to renew your work permit. I would hope that any employer would find this a fairly reasonable situation, and would support their employee in their application where possible.

I don't think UKBA generally call applicants' employers if its in-country appliation. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hello friends,
I'm in the midst of appraisals at my office  and my manager has assigned some key things to me. So i dont think it would create a friendly atmosphere if I disclose. Because it can be trust thing,
But I have still put his name in my Tier 1 application! :?
When i applied my consultant and friends told that the BHC would only check what I'm doing and earning at office not anything more.
So i'm kind of feeling uneasy at the moment, Please help me. :?:
