Work Permit --> Tier 1

Post by peril49 » Tue Mar 17, 2009 11:10 am

I am looking to move from a work permit, issued to me almost 3 years ago (valid for 5 years), to a 3 year Tier 1(General)
I have the following questions:

1) if my Tier 1 gets rejected does this effect/void my current work permit, or can i continue using it?

2)Once my tier 1 application is successfull, is there anything else that i need to do to convert my work permit, or anything else that i am missing that will affect my ILR in 2 years time?

3) do i need to inform my current work place of my new visa status?

(The reason i am changing is for more security, before they change the law, just incase something happens with my job i have my HSMP to fall back onto)

NO.. you can continue on your WP till it is valid...

No you dont need to do any thing.. just that you will be more free from all limitations of being tied up to the same employee and you can work for any company... as long as you qualify/capable of..
