Postal Orders... Urgent Help

Hi All,
I have taken the 3 Postal Orders, £250 each for £750. When they gave the POs they were crossed(two parallel lines in middle of PO) and was not written as 'A/C Payee Only' on that.
When I asked them about A/C Payee only on the PO, they asked me to write A/C Payee between the two lines (which they used for crossing).

Is it correct thing to write A/C Payee between the two lines or I need to leave them as it is..

Please answer ASAP... Thanks in Advance.

The correct thing is to write a/c payee.
