Hello dear fellows, i am applying for Tier 1 General on monday. Plz check my covering letter and the list of documents provided. And plz give suggestions if you think anything to be added.

I ________, wish to apply for entry clearance to work in the UK under ‘Tier 1 (General) -highly skilled worker’ of the Points Based System (PBS).

I have claimed 75 points in attributes section and 10 points each for English requirement and maintenance funds on a self evaluation basis using the ‘Self Assessment Tool’ available on the Agency website at www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk.

Following is the list of documents provided along with my application.

1. Age Assessment – 20 points claimed.

I was born on 25 Oct, 1981, and I am 27 years of age at the time of this application.

Documents provided:

• Original Passport stating date of birth
• Birth Certificate

2. Qualification – 30 points claimed.

I have done Postgraduate certificate from Queen Mary University of London in Advance Methods in Computer Science. My qualification is listed in Points calculator

Documents provided:

• Original Certificate of Award


3. Previous Earnings – 20 points claimed.

I am working with Petscriptions Ltd. Since 14th July 2008, Gross Income earned is 24109.18

Documents provided:

• Letter from the employer
• Personal banks statements
• Original Payslips

4. UK Experience - 5 points claimed.

My work experience is in United Kingdom.

Documents provided:

* Letter from Employer
* Pay Slips
* Bank Statements


5. English Language – 10 points claimed.

I have claimed 10 points under the category ‘Degree taught in English’. My qualification is listed in Points calculator

Documents provided:

• Original Certificate of Award


6. Maintenance Funds – 10 points claimed.

Documents provided:

•Personal banks statement covering a period of three months starting from 31st Dec 2008 to 30 March 2009.

Your documents are satisfactory for the purpose of filing. IT Returns can also be submitted (it is not mandatory).

P.S: I see a lot of threads asking whether their documents are correct/enough.Sticky clearly shows the documents submitted by successful candidates and it should be our first place for comparison with our documents. I would advise everybody to use the sticky to their advantage.
