Tier 1 Dependant Visa - Policy Document

Post by pvivekrao » Mon Jun 29, 2009 4:34 pm

Friends,

I am in UK from last 3 months and I am planning to apply dependant visa to my wife. From couple of days I am looking in different forums regarding maintaining funds for depend but I haven’t find any answer.

My confusion is do I need to maintain funds 1,600 + 2,800 = 4,400GBP or 1,600 + 800 = 2,400 GBP for 3 months?

Many guys have the same query but no one given exact response. Recently I find a dependant policy document from following link, it explains...

40. For example, the Tier 1 migrant has been in the UK for 6 months and is making an application at the same time as his/her spouse and two children. He/she must show that he/she has £1600 for his spouse and a further £1600 for each child, in addition to £800 required for his/her own support. In total the family will require evidence that they hold £5600 in available funds (£1600 x 3 = £4800+ £800).

Senior guys please comment!!!

Thanks....

based on your info below and you fall within the within 6 months period so that will be the higher maintenance fund scenario:

yourself = £800
dependants = £1600 per dependant.

So if you're 2 in all:

Maint fund = 800 + 1600
= £2400

You should have kept at least £2,400 each month for the last months prior to your T-1 dependant application.

Hope this clears out things.

Please note that 6 months is just an example in the Guidance notes. The cut-off is 12 months.

Thanks for the reply push....just to confirm then...I will be applying for my dependants with 12 months of my stay in UK (sept 09 i complete 6 months), so that means i should have

(1600 * 2 + 800) £ = 4000 £ in my bank account for 3 months... Am I correct??

If we are staying in UK any period lessthen 12 months, I think this will be applicable.

If you apply for your dependants while you have not been in UK for more than 12 months then the funds as above are needed.

So the final conclusion is both Jedi001 and me can go with 1,600 for individual dependant and 800 for us (Main Applicant) for 3 months.
