Thats what they say on telephone. In practice the extensions are being grant from the date of expiry of current leave.ughosal wrote:Hi,
I called PEO Croydon last week to get an appointment for early extension of my HSMP which expires in feb 2010. The advisor told that the current instruction is that the new (extension) visa will take effect immediately and not from date of expiry of current visa.
Is anyone aware of any change in rule? My friend got an early extension last month with extended visa coming into effect from date of expiry of current visa.
Thanks.

It is because people like yourself call up the Home office, that is why they are going to change the rule.
NB: I still wonder what it means to be Highly skilled.
Tipu, That's useful. Thanks.tipu20 wrote:There is a confusion about when the new visa will start.
Here is how it happened with me
HSMP visa was vaild till 2009 Dec
Applied Early extension in March 2009
Got the Approval which invalidated the above HSMP visa but the new Tier 1 visa was started from the day it stamped but the end date was extended till 2012 Dec.
So the New was started from the day it was stamped but included the current leave to remain and further leave to remain.
Hope it make thing more clear.
Regards,
Tipu
