I am on a Tier 1 visa valid till 2012. I am planning to go back to India for about 2 months to check employment opportunities there as I have been made redundant and am out of a job for the past few months.
My question is as I am taking a long vacation, would I need to prove I have a job on re-entry? As in I have to either shorten my trip or not go till I get a job if I want to get back in? ( It is a little silly, I agree)
TIA

As long as your visa is valid then it doesn't matter if you've got a job or not.

You can enjoy your holiday in India and find a job there, if not you are most welcome to UK with the same visa...

ditto.
Just one thing. This sounds like a tall order, but keep ILR at one corner of your head as well when you are going outside UK. It can't be more than 180 days as per present rule. Although surely the rules gonna change.

Everytime I have come back from a trip abroad, they have asked me if I am still working at the same job. As I had, they didnt ask me any more questions. Just so you are aware, they may ask you that.

Yes 180days is for total 5Years.. you have to understand that as per today.. 90days in a year and not more than 90days in 1trip...

Job should not be an issue BUT the Immigration Officer might question you about availability of funds to support yourself in UK without being in active employment.
