New Tier 1 Policy changes for Tier 2 (ICT) applicants

Hello Friends,

I am currently on Tier 2 (ICT) and was going through the new changes effecting from 6th April' 2010. Can you please let me know what the below mentioned clause means?

"If you come under the Tier 2 ICT category as a Graduate Trainee and Skilled Transfer this will only be for a limited period only and you will not be able to switch into a different immigration category."

Does this mean I cant apply for Tier 1 general?

Yes you wont be able to switch your immigration status while in UK if you are on Gradute trainee or skills tranfer sub category

Graduate Trainees
62.
The recruit should be coming to the UK as a part of their training or career development, not to fill a long-term post, nor to displace a resident worker. Therefore the maximum length of stay that will be granted for this sub-category is 12 months. Applicants will not be able to extend their stay beyond 12 months or switch into other immigration categories.

Skills Transfer
68.
The maximum length of stay that will be granted for this sub-category is 6 months. Applicants will not be able to extend their stay beyond 6 months or switch into other immigration categories.

However, this comes to me as a surprise.

Actually, I am here on Tier 2 (ICT) I am definitely not a Graduate Trainee.
What is Skills transfer sub category? I don't whether I am under this or not. Please help.

These sub categories are recently introduced. Not very sure about Tier 2 rules, post in the tier 2 category and you will get better response
