Can i use fixed deposits(from 2 banks) & some cash in SB

Post by sunil kumar e j » Fri Aug 20, 2010 7:27 am

Hi,

Need immediate help on the below.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Queries :
1. Can we use a mix of fixed deposits(from 2 banks) and some cash in SB a/c (3rd bank).
2. If we can, do we risk of getting an Tier-1 visa ?
3. Or should i better put all the money in a SB a/c and then apply after 3 months (frankly speaking, I don't want to do this) ?

Regards
Sunil

Hi,

I am in the same boat almost. I have my salaried account and 3 other accounts to prove that I hold 2800 GBP at any point of time in the last 90 days.

To me, even if you have multiple accounts, it should not be a problem as it is clearly written in policy that you can show statements from multiple accounts.
What you can do is highlight the minimum account on each of those statements (which though not correct technically) and then add them up in the covering letter substaintiating your claim. So min (A,B,C) > 2800 GBP.

That should be enough. I trust ECO to be smart enough to interpret such small variations.
Thanks,
Sumit.
