Can Salary account be shown for maintenance fund?

Post by tier2_tier1 » Sun Nov 28, 2010 12:47 pm

Hi,

Is a Fixed deposit mandatory to show as maintenance fund OR Can I show my salary account that has sufficient maintenance fund?

If Salary account is shown as maintenance fund then what should be the format of maintenance fund letter. Should it be given by bank manager?

I don't think Fixed Deposit is a mandatory requirement, I haven't read this anywhere, I don't know where did you get this from. Salary account should be fine as long as you maintain the minimum level of funds required for the requird period. The funds should not be below that level at any time during the required period.

Re: format. I think the bank statements should be mor than enought provided they are on theletter head of the bank and original. If not then you need to stamp and sign it from the bank. You just mention that you have maintained the maintenance fud at all time in your account in the letter. The bank statement would be a proof itself anyway.

Good luck

HI,

Thanks. Do you mean to say that an e-statement which has the bank logo on top printed on colour printer should be more than enough?

I think e-statement are not normally accepted. If you have an e-statement (internet), you need to stamp and sign it from the bank officials.

1.Salary account can be used for maintenance fund, no restriction.

2.Normal current a/c bank statements meet all requisites mentioned by HO.

3.For E-Statements, get it stamped by your local branch.

4. If you order banks statments, they don't always come on bank letter head (e.g. Barclays). But there is normaly a bank cover letter explaining why they are not on bank stationary. Make sure to send that letter along with your statements to HO. It will be great if could get them stamped as well
