Applying for Tier 1 (Gen), earlier UK Tourist visa rejected

Post by sp2010 » Tue Dec 07, 2010 11:49 am

Hello,

I am planning to apply for Tier 1 (General) shortly. Earlier I was working in US (L1 visa) and on the way back to India, I wanted to stop over in UK for a week.

I applied for Tourist visa but was rejected stating they were not sure I would not take up employment in UK, I had attached letter from my company stating I was on their payroll etc. But that did not help.

Will this earlier denial affect my Tier 1 application? I intend to write the reason mentioned above in my Tier 1 application form. How to best phrase it so that it does not impact new decision ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

They will know the reason for refusal so best you phrase as it appears on the refusal form.

In any case it should not have an effect on your T1G application.

your rejection is a separate case and new t-1 application is separate. you cannot rephrase the rejection reason. as long as there is no criminal/similar reason for rejection, you are safe.
