Income Proof regarding tax

Hi

Can someone guide me regarding the income proof criteria. I have payslips and employer letter conforming my salary in India and have a TDS certificate (Tax Deducted at Source) which our employer provides as a prrof of filing returns which also conforms my salary. Is that necessary??? Can TDS be used as an evidence instead of I T returns???
Iam really confused. Please help.
