Tier 1 application under consideration - some queries

Post by OrangeCounty » Sat Mar 05, 2011 11:51 am

Hi there,

1. Category changing (switching) from Post Study Work
2. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) September 2011
3. Date application posted 24th February 2011
4. Date payment debited 28th February 2011
5. Payment mode Debit Card
6. Biometric Letter received: 28th February 2011
7. Biometic done at London Old Street 04 March 2011
8. Date passport received -WAITING.........
9.Date leave to remain valid from :WAITING.........

I now have a few questions for y'all knowledgeable folks!

1) Do UKBA consider your application BEFORE the biometrics or AFTER?
2) The cutoff date for tier 1 is April 2011 - will they stop processing my application if they need more time after April, even though I submitted in February?
3) How long will I get for my leave to remain? 2 years? (not an extension)
4) I forgot to add my cover letter - will that cause a problem?
5) I retain most of my earnings in my limited company, I take the least possible amount for my own salary. What will count as my proof of earnings? My sales figure of £60000 or the amount I actually take out?
6) How do I organise a courier to pick up my passport? What do I need to let UKBA know?

Thanks y'all!

1. I think both (some part before and some part after).
2. No - your application will be processed as long as it is submitted before April 5 2011
3. You'll get it for two years
4. No a cover letter is not compulsory - you should be fine as long as your documentation makes sense.
5. Sorry - not sure (am salaried - am sure someone else will pick that up for you). Intuitively though, if you hold all shares in the company then the revenue is probably claimable.
6. MBE Sheffield offers a home office pick-=up service. Google them and contact them - they should be able to explain the process to you.
