Documentation of Job Experience Salary slip and tax returns

Post by anjum70 » Sun Mar 26, 2006 2:16 am

Hi,
My fiance is lecturer in IT .She is earning 8,000 rupees a month. As soon as she comes here she will apply for HSMP.She has got points

1.5 points for age
2.25 points for M.Sc
3.10 points for marriage
4. 25 points for experience

My questions is regarding documentation of experience :

1. She gets monthly salary by cheque so ,can we show bank statement as a proof of her work experience? (As university dosent provides salary slips ).

2.I am confused with tax returns. For HSMP does she has to show certificate of tax return , but as she is earning less salary in India so university gives 8,000 rupees without any tax deduction (As far as i know u dont have to give tax if ur salary is less tahn 1 Lakh per annum in India). Is it an HSMP requirement that an employee or employer has to show tax return in order to claim experience pointsand if so then how can we do that as salary is less than 1 Lakh per annum?

Plz if u guide us what other proof can we give when submitting job experience documents in order to claim 25 points in this section

Any information will be of great help,

I Will apprecaite any response,

Anjum

You are not claiming points for earnings so you need not submit documentation for earning.

A couple of other comments - You dont have to be paying taxes to be income tax assessed in India. To simply say that you dont earn enough and therefore dont have any tax documents is not good enough IMHO.

You have also mentioned that she is going to claim 10 points for marriage. Have you stayed together for at least 2 years and can provide 3-4 types of evidence to prove the same? Read the guidance notes on claiming points for spouse.

Thanks MWazir for your reply . Can please tell me what IMHO means ?
That means if salary is less then we dont show any tax documents is this what that above statement means , Any suggestions from u will be great help . We are going to get married in 5 months time so then she can claim 10 points for that as u mentioned .

To claim 10 points for spouse you need to be living together for at least 2 years.

I thought that this 2 years rule applies only to those who are not married, but claim to live together?? Isnt that the case? Please check. (I assume that anjum70 is planning to marry before applying for hsmp)

My case is I'm already married for 1 year but staying together for 5 years? So does it means I must provide document that we live together for 2 years for arguement sake if a partner is married then supposely they are staying together? Make sense?
