URGENT: Earnings from Military Remunerated Reserve

I am producing an appeal against a refusal in which the person who checked my application stated that earnings from Military Remunerated Reserve are not "Earned Money". The concept of military reserve is different from receiving a pension, but can be treated in the same way, depending on interpretation. In Brazil (where I am from), pension and income from military retirement are treated as different things because although you are retired you are "available" to be called back to service (well, that's the concept of Reserve).

Anyone would have any tips on this?
