No Correspondence from UKBA about the application

I applied for Tier 1 general visa on 25th Aug. Since then I have recieved no confirmation or biometric letter. Infact the Visa fee hasn't been deducted form my a/c. I have been calling UKBA for 2 weeks now as my COS expires on 25th Sep, but they refuse to comment until boimetric details are with them. They said they have raised a query with their financial department ( which was 13th Sep) and I should wait for them to contact me!!! I also discussed this with my employer and they are ready to Issue me another COS if required. This will enable me to make another application as my current leave to remain expires end of Oct.

However is their anything I can do to speed thing up??
