Visa for dependants

Hi, Shall be grateful if someone could advise on the situation below:

I currently have Tier 1 (General) extension visa until October 2012. My wife and daughter are in Pakistan. My wife also has dependant Tier 1 (General). My daughter was born in Pak so does not have UK visa yet. I am now eligible to apply for 10 Yr long residence settlement. The waiting times are very long for this (6 months). I don't want to live away from my family that long! If I go for Tier 1 dependent visa for my daughter, that will cost approx £1000 and then as soon as I get my Indefinite stamped, it'll take another £1400 to get the same for my wife and daughter. Is there anyway that I can get a simple Visit visa for my daughter and get them over. Any suggestions are welcome. Also any advise to get Long Residence visa decision quicker shall also be much appreciated.

You cannot use a visit visa to have your family come over and live with you as you sort of suggest in your post. You can get them a visit visa to come and visit you, but they need to have clear intentions of going back. As this is not your intention, it may be even more difficult to prove.

Even if your daughter obtains entry clearance as a visitor, she will be unable to switch into any other category (e.g. - dependant of PBS migrant, child of settled person) from within the UK.
