Applied for Extension and Employer not giving work !

My wife TIER 1 (dependant) worked part time...
I principal applicant TIER 1 (general) applied for visa extension including my dependants (wife). Aplication posted before expiry of current leave. leave expired since 1st March 2012.
Got one acknowledgement letter in name of Principal applicant..

Now my wife is a supply teacher and she has been refused to give work unless we provide them extension proof...

my wife forwarded them acknowldgement letter (to principal applicant), copy of immigration act 1971 section 3C and also provided UKBA link where it is mentioned that current leave continues if extension applied with in due time...

Question: How to satisfy wifes employer....? They told that we will email UKBA and inquire from them wheather our extension is in progress..etc. They do not trust whatever we have provided them to prove that extension in progress...

she is not getting work now. this is really not fair. Please advise what shall we do...?

Legally they can't deny work on that basis. You can seek legal advice on this.

without legal advise is there any way to convince them...? Or any link provided by UKBA where they can confirm...?

As you've already said that you've sent them the Ack Letter and also the link for Section 3c and 3d. I don't think there is much left that you could cover.

I am asking you to seek legal advice, I am not asking you to drag the employer to court just yet.

It's unfair of the employer not to give work. But is this a legally recognised form of discrimination? I don't think it is (unfortunately).

Thanks but is there any UKBA telephone number where they can call and clarify the law references I am providing...?

At the very end of the page, in FAQs. I think this should suffice the requirement of the employer. If you want them to phone the UKBA, then give them the number which is for employers. see the link below
