Landing in Canada without Family Members

I along with my wife and 2 kids applied from USA for Canada immigration under Skilled Worker category. We got the VISA and our landing for PR should be before Oct 31st 2007. My wife cannot accompany me as her I94 is lost and US is taking a long time(2 months) to replace it. Since I am the primary applicant can I go ahead and do my landing formalities come back to US within a week and later (in a year or two) when we are ready to finally move to Canada, take my family along with me.
Can I do this?
If yes then will I have start the process for my family all over again?
