Hi my name is drew. My mother became a permanent residence of Canada in 1969. At that time on her application she sponsored my father. He then followed in 1970. They then sponsored me and I came to Canada in 1972. I was born in 1967. When my father went for his citizenship in 1976 I was still in Canada. However, when the citizenship officer had filled out my fathers application he inadvertently stated I was out of the country. What I researched too was it was the duty of the citizenship officer to fill the application for citizenship before 1977. Citizenship and Immigration Canada has acknowledged this and corrected my fathers file and stated that I was in the country at the time of his application. As well, my mother had filed for her Citizenship in 1977 and included my name on her citizenship application. My question is would I not be a Canadian Citizen for they were both British subjects? And prior to 1977 my father did not have to fill out an application for me for I was chattel to his application. As well, my mother did not have to fill out an application for she was also chattel. I am also aware of the naturalization process and do I fit under that rule. And what about the 'Lost Canadian' category.
