Live and work in New York.. How can I?

Post by RedrumMike » Fri Nov 07, 2008 10:07 pm

I am a musician, music teacher from Greece. I want madly to live in New York but the immigration visa is something difficult What are the options for someone who wants to live permanent in New York. Should I look for a job and then it would be easier to get a work permit once I have an offer or it's better to look after my move.. If I find a job what my girlfriend should do as well? Is there any law for unmarried couples in USA, other wise I guess she will need to live or to get married if there would be no job offer.(she is experienced in multilingual jobs and travel industry). Can she find something? How as a musician can be employed there? Do the music schools accept cvs from abroad?
